Medical-cost stress test

Health Insurance Planner

Build a personal health-cover target from a hospital-cost scenario, a buffer, your existing cover, employer cover and a liquid medical reserve.

Set your stress test

Use a scenario you want the plan to be able to absorb. This is not a market-price estimate.
Extra room for a cost above the base scenario.

Why a stress test is useful

Health insurance planning becomes easier when you start with an event you want the household balance sheet to survive. A scenario amount can be based on a recent hospital experience, a treatment category you are planning for, or a conservative household assumption.

Read the policy mechanics separately

A coverage amount is only one part of the product. Review the Customer Information Sheet and policy wording for exclusions, waiting periods, co-payments, deductibles, room restrictions, sub-limits, restoration rules and other conditions.

Employer cover is a layer, not the whole plan

Group health cover can be valuable, but the employment relationship itself can change. Model employer cover separately so the household can see how much protection disappears if the job or policy changes.
